What is tiered office seating?
Tiered office seating is a stepped seating system designed to bring groups together for presentations, town halls, informal meetings and collaborative work. Sometimes described as office bleachers or amphitheatre seating, it creates multiple seating levels within a compact footprint and gives people clear views across the space.
Huxlo designs and manufactures modular tiered seating for workplaces, education spaces and commercial interiors. Rather than treating every project as bespoke joinery, our seating is based around configurable modules that can be combined to suit different room sizes, capacities and layouts.

Huxlo offers two approaches: larger Basecamp modules for substantial presentation and collaboration areas, and smaller Lekplats modules where flexibility and easier reconfiguration are important.

How much space does tiered seating need?
The footprint depends on the number of tiers, module sizes, circulation space and the number of people you want to accommodate. A compact arrangement can work as a breakout feature, while larger runs can form the main presentation area for a workplace or learning environment.

Modular or built-in?
Modular tiered seating vs built-in seating
Traditional tiered seating is often constructed as part of a bespoke joinery package and fixed permanently into the building. Huxlo takes a different approach.
Our tiered seating is made from standard modular furniture units which can be combined to create larger arrangements. This reduces the amount of bespoke design and site work required and makes future changes considerably easier.
A modular system can be particularly useful where a workplace may be reconfigured, expanded or moved in the future. Built-in seating can still make sense where unusual room geometry or a completely integrated architectural solution is required.

Designed to work with the interior
Tiered seating becomes a large visual feature within a room, so material choice matters. Huxlo combines durable panel finishes with upholstered seat pads to create seating that feels architectural rather than temporary.
Upholstery can be selected from commercial fabric ranges in a wide choice of colours, allowing a project to stay neutral or introduce colour as part of the wider interior scheme.
